There are certain actors whose careers become intertwined with entire eras of television, whose performances define a generation of viewers. Andrew Lincoln is undeniably one of them. For over a decade, audiences watched him shoulder the emotional weight of survival, leadership, and unimaginable loss as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead.
Then he went on to star in the franchise’s highly anticipated spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. While it's unclear if he'll eventually return to the zombie universe yet again, fans don’t have to rely on “what ifs” or distant possibilities anymore. Because now, Lincoln is stepping into something entirely unexpected.
No, it's not a Coldwater season 2. That thriller series may still be a topic of speculation among fans, but this latest project marks a completely different direction. Even more exciting? The new series has set a release window. That means this isn’t just a quiet development tucked away behind studio doors. It’s real, and it’s moving forward!
Andrew Lincoln joins ITV series Force of Nature

It's true, Walking Dead fans! Andrew Lincoln has been confirmed to narrate a brand-new six-part nature series titled Force of Nature. According to TV Zone UK, the show is coming to ITV1, ITVX, and the ARD Group later this year. While that's not an exact premiere date, at least we won’t have to wait years for it to come out. We can expect it by the end of 2026, and honestly, that alone is exciting! However, it's important to note that there isn't yet a way for U.S. viewers to watch the series through a domestic broadcaster or streamer.
Force of Nature, produced by the award-winning team at Plimsoll Productions, has reportedly been three years in the making and promises something far more urgent than your typical wildlife documentary. Instead of battling the undead, Lincoln will guide viewers through stories of real-world survival as animals across the globe face extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, droughts, and wildfires.
From chimpanzees in Senegal to sea otters in California and polar bears in the Arctic, Force of Nature will spotlight the resilience of the animal kingdom in the face of a changing climate. For Lincoln, this is a bold pivot. Instead of leading the action on screen, he’ll guide audiences through it with his voice. This isn't the first time he's done voice work, either. He previously narrated the British documentary series Dispatches, voiced his Rick character in an episode of Robot Chicken, as well as did voice work for several video games.
That said, Lincoln definitely has the perfect voice for narration, and we can't wait to hear him bring Force of Nature to life! Now, we just need AMC to announce his official return to The Walking Dead franchise.
Back in September 2025, Lincoln mentioned in an interview that there was a "conversation" on the matter happening at the time. However, nothing has been confirmed just yet. With Daryl Dixon ending its run this year and Dead City's fate after season 3 unknown, we really need some good news about the franchise. An announcement about Lincoln's return would be a massive moment for fans. I'm just saying!
