The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is an AMC spinoff of The Walking Dead. The first season follows Daryl (Norman Reedus) as he mysteriously washes ashore in France and embarks on a journey to escort Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), who is believed to be the key to humanity’s future, to a safe space. Viewers also discover the truth behind the fan favorite’s unexpected arrival.

The show, set in France, reinvents the world of The Walking Dead. It introduces new threats, new language, and an entirely new culture, even regarding the apocalypse. Stephane Codron (Romain Levi) brings a very personal and intimate feeling as a villain this season. His pursuit of Daryl comes from his belief that Daryl killed his brother. This dynamic adds cat-and-mouse tension to the season, keeping the audience on edge with every encounter.

One of the standout aspects ofThe Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is its distinct artistic vision. Unlike the gritty, desaturated, and almost cold look of the flagship series, this spinoff embraces a more cinematic, almost ethereal quality. This fresh visual style sets it apart while preserving the emotional weight and gripping storytelling that defines The Walking Dead universe.

David Zabel created the series for AMC. The executive producers of season 1 include Zabel, Scott M. Gimple (Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe), Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, and Norman Reedus. The season's writers include Zabel, Jason Richman, Coline Abert, Shannon Goss, and Laura Snow.

Reedus, who has portrayed Daryl Dixon since The Walking Dead’s very first season, seamlessly transitions into leading his own series. He’s joined by an impressive ensemble of actors - fittingly, the cast is largely made up of French actors.
