Fans always enjoy a good behind-the-scenes story giving insight into the real person behind their favorite movie and TV characters. One Fear the Walking Dead actor has been making headlines for many years regarding his exciting new roles. In an interview with Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, the actor revealed a very surprising story of how he almost joined a cult!

Emmy award-winning actor, playwright, and director Colman Domingo is well known for his long list of impressive credits, including Rustin, Sing Sing, The Color Purple, and The Four Seasons. Walking Dead fans know him for his role as the villain, turned good guy, Victor Strand, in the first spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead.

On August 19, Domingo joined Mythical Kitchen's Last Meal for an interview where he and host Josh Scherer ate what Domingo would want as his last meal and discussed incredible stories of his life. One specific topic has caught the media's attention, and that is when Domingo almost accidentally joined a cult in Mexico City.

Domingo was prompted to tell the story when the host asked him, “You haven't joined a cult yet, now that you moved to Malibu?" To which Domingo replied:

"I almost joined a cult in Mexico City, but that's another story. It was just a group of nice people, and then I was like, 'Wait a minute, this is weird.' I was like, 'What's up with you guys? But as I did research and found out more about them, I'm like, ‘Oh, that's a cult.'"

Domingo has been nominated for numerous awards and in 2022 won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Ali in Euphoria. He was recently nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in Netflix's The Four Seasons, which has been renewed for a second season. The 77th Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on CBS on September 14.

The actor was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actor category in 2024 and 2025 for his roles in Rustin and Sing Sing, respectively.
