Andrew Lincoln will always be remembered for his portrayal of Rick Grimes in AMC's The Walking Dead. Fans of the series continue to hope that Rick will once again be reunited with the key players of that series in a mega reunion series or episode. Until that time, fans will have to be satisfied with seeing the actor in a new series, Coldwater.
The six-part thriller from ITV Studios, produced by Sister (Black Doves, Eric, Chernobyl), will debut in the fall of 2025 on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player. David Ireland (The Lovers, Ulster American, Cyprus Avenue) wrote and created the series and serves as an executive producer. The first three episodes are directed by Lee Haven Jones (A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, Passenger, Doctor Who), with Andrew Cumming (Shetland, Payback, Cold Feet) directing the remaining three.

Lincoln portrays a stay-at-home father named John, and is joined by Indira Varma as his wife Fiona. Ewen Bremmer plays John's neighbor Tommy, and Eve Myles plays Tommy's wife Rebecca, who is the local vicar.
The story follows John, a middle-aged man dissatisfied with his role as a stay-at-home dad who privately rages against his life. When he fails to act during a violent confrontation at a playground, he uproots his family and moves from London to Coldwater, a fictional Scottish village.

Soon after his arrival, John befriends his neighbor Tommy, a man whom Fiona detests on sight. Fiona was hopeful that their move would allow them to leave the past behind and strengthen their weakened marriage. Fiona isn't happy with John's friendship as she is suspicious of Tommy, believing he is hiding something.

When John is no longer able to repress his rage, things come to a head, with disastrous results, putting John in Tommy's debt. A series of unsettling events finally forces John to discover who Tommy really is.
In 2024, Lincoln reprised his role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead spinoff, The Ones Who Live. This series continued the epic love story of Rick and Michonne, played by Danai Gurira. The series was well received by viewers who long for more of their story. The limited series was told in six episodes, which featured the reunion between the couple who had long been apart and a reunion with their children, Judith (Cailey Fleming) and RJ (Antony Azor).
Lincoln is well known for his portrayal of the love-struck Mark in the wildly popular Christmas movie Love Actually. He also starred in the Channel 4 series Teachers and directed two episodes for which he was nominated for the BAFTA for Best New Director (Fiction) in 2004.
The actor starred alongside Naomi Watts in Netflix's Australian drama, Penguin Bloom. The movie is based on the book by Cameron Bloom and Bradley Trevor Greive, which chronicles the true story of Sam and Cameron Bloom's family, who are befriended by an Australian magpie they named Penguin.
He also appeared in the season finale of Netflix's anthology series Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities in 2022.
