When the eleventh season marked the end of AMC's The Walking Dead, it was clear there was more lore left to explore, which included how the apocalypse affected countries outside the United States.
The three spinoffs have already followed the series finale with the launch of The Walking Dead: Dead City (originally titled Isle of the Dead), Daryl Dixon, and The Ones Who Live. Each one followed the more popular TWD characters, including Daryl, Negan, and the long-awaited return of Rick Grimes.
But which spinoffs are returning in 2026? Let's dive in and find out!

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4
It has been recently confirmed by the star of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Norman Reedus, that filming has concluded for the fourth and final season. One of the most popular characters from the franchise, Daryl has survived since season 1 and found himself washed ashore in France.
On his journey to find his way back home, he becomes tasked with protecting and transporting a young boy, Laurent, believed to be a savior of sorts. For two seasons, Daryl remains in France with Laurent, falling for his aunt Isabelle and dealing with series villain Genet, the leader of Pouvoir (Europe's equivalent of the CRM).
By the end of season 2, Carol arrives in the hopes of rescuing Daryl, Laurent escapes France, and Genet is thankfully killed, which can only mean the weaponized walkers plan is over. By season 3, our duo still fails to return home, finding themselves washed ashore in Spain.
While season 1 started off strong and season 2 failed to even make an impression, season 3 rose from the ashes to unveil an intriguing, character-driven driven and compelling season. Carol finds romance, again and Daryl becomes tasked with another rescue mission, but the depth and means in which Spain has survived the apocalypse was a very stark contrast to France.
Sadly, Daryl and Carol's plans to leave Spain on another boat (that they had spent the entire season repairing) fail during the season finale. Season 4 does not have an official release date but is projected to be released next year.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3
The first of the three spinoffs that followed the series finale was The Walking Dead: Dead City, where it seemed Negan and Maggie's feud would never end. But their feud was only half the story.
When Maggie's son Hershel Jr. is kidnapped by The Croat, she has no choice but to find and deliver Negan. But that plot twist is also only half the story as Negan has been on the run after killing the men responsible for abusing his wife Annie and was now the sole guardian of a young girl named Ginny.
But New York City held more than walkers, and Hershel Jr. It was the hub of power thanks to methane, the literal catalyst for a small war between the groups already residing in Manhattan and New Babylon. Filming for season 3 continues, but many believe will premiere next year.
