Fear the Walking Dead is the first spinoff of The Walking Dead, which premiered on AMC in 2015. This series was established as a companion to the main series, which is set on the West Coast of the United States. Fear TWD began at the onset of the outbreak and followed the Clark/Manawa family and others as they tried to grasp what was happening as the dead began to rise. One of the fan-favorite characters was Nick Clark, portrayed by Frank Dillane, who didn't survive the entire series. How did he die?
Nick was introduced in the incredible opening of the pilot episode of Fear the Walking Dead. (watch it below) He awakens to discover his girlfriend Gloria (Lexi Johnson) missing from their bed, only to find her transformed, feasting on the flesh of a dead person. At this point he has no idea what has caused this. What a way to open a series about the undead.
As the story progressed, it was revealed that Nick was a heroin addict with a very troubled past. Despite his issues, Nick was a very intelligent person who could think on his feet, a trait that proved useful. Throughout this series, he experienced a drastic evolution into a much different person, capable of survival.
After the Gonzalez Dam destruction he suffered PTSD and chose to stay inside the walls of the Dell Diamond Baseball Stadium. After the stadium falls and his mother, Madison (Kim Dickens), was assumed to have died, Nick was unable to find peace.
Nick Clark's death - Fear the Walking Dead

In the season 4 episode, "Good Out Here," Nick was killed by Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), another troubled youth. She was brought into the stadium by Nick and his mother, but she would betray them. After the destruction of the stadium, Charlie witnessed Nick killing Ennis (Even Gamble), a man who, along with his brother Mel (Kevin Zegers), took the girl in and raised her.
Charlie shot Nick in the chest, exacting revenge for Ennis' death. After killing him, she appeared shocked and then saddened. She ran off before the other survivors could discover what she had done. When his sister Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Strand (Colman Domingo), and Luciana (Danay Garcia) discovered he was shot, they tried to save Nick, but it was too late. In the following episode, Luciana, his girlfriend, stabbed his brain to ensure he wouldn't turn.

Fortunately before his death, Nick was able to make peace with some words of wisdom from Morgan Jones (Lennie James). Morgan's mantra "all life is precious" came from the book The Art of Peace, which he gave to Nick, who read it before his death.

Dillane will star in Urchin, a drama that is the directorial debut of Harris Dickinson. You can also see him in other recent roles in Joan, Renegade Nell, and The Essex Serpent. He will also star in the upcoming drama Harvest with Caleb Landry Jones, Harry Melling, Rosy McEwen, and Arinzé Kene, Thalissa Teixeira.
