AMC continues to renew Walking Dead spinoffs and fans are ready for more stories involving their favorite characters. The Walking Dead: Dead City is a direct sequel of the main series which expands the universe and the stories of Maggie and Negan. The network recently premiered the second season. If you are curious about release dates, times, and more, we've got answers.
Dead City's second season begins approximately six months after the events of the first. Maggie (Lauren Cohan), her son Hershel (Logan Kim), and Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) are safely secured at the Bricks, and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is behind bars, compliments of the Dama (Lisa Emery).
Eli Jorné serves as showrunner for Dead City again this season. He executive produces with TWD comic creator Robert Kirkman, Cohan, Morgan, David Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd, Lauren Cohan, TWD CCO, Scott Gimple, Brian Bockrath, Colin Walsh, Michael Satrazemis. Satrazemis, Cohan, and Ed Ornelas direct this season.
One exciting bit of news for season 2 is that the episode count has been increased from six, for the previous season, to eight. This season Cohan, who has portrayed Maggie Rhee née Greene since season 2 of the main series, steps behind the camera to direct episodes 4 and 6.
