As seen in episode one, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) reluctantly joins New Babylon under the rule of Governor Charlie Byrd (Jasmine Walker) and Colonel Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles). Back on the island of Manhattan, Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) wife and child are threatened by the Dama (Lisa Emery), ensuring his cooperation.

Ep. 202 of Dead City will release on AMC and AMC+ on May 11, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET.
The new promo images for the upcoming episode of Dead City feature images of some of the new characters as well as Negan and the Croat (Željko Ivanek). Below, the duo looks perturbed at someone, and the Croat can be seen holding a new "shocking" Lucille he had crafted for Negan.

The next images show New Babylon's leaders meeting with Maggie. From the tents it appears they have set camp in preparations to battle the gangs of NYC.

Keir Gilchrist portrays Benjamin Pierce who was first introduced in the premiere episode of season 2. He is a resident of the New Babylon Federation who appears to be a secretary or scribe to Governor Byrd.

The first season of the series revealed that Maggie took her son and some other residents of Hilltop and moved to the Bricks, an old brick factory, somewhere near New York. Hilltop experienced much damage during the Whisperer War and the fight with the Commonwealth, making it unfit to live there. At the end of season 1, Maggie found herself caring for two teens, her son and Ginny (Mahina Napoleon), a young girl orphaned when Negan killed her father, who was part of a group who attacked Negan's wife Annie (Medina Senghore).

Both Hershel and Ginny have experienced extensive trauma. He was abducted by the Dama, who also chopped off his pinky toe. And the girl who lost her father and then learns that Negan, the man who was taking care of her, killed her father.

Sometime after events of season 1, Perlie Armstrong was promoted to a colonel. His lie about killing Negan and his knowledge of Manhattan, no doubt, attributed to this higher rank.

The second season of Dead City is about to get exciting as both sides of the battle assemble their teams. Who will win control of the island and the methane production? Will Maggie and Negan continue to fight on opposite sides, or form an alliance?
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 airs new episodes each Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+.
