Netflix added the first season of Syfy's Revival at the end of August 2026, and it's the perfect show for fans of The Walking Dead to watch right now.
After The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3 ended and Resident Evil hit theaters, there aren't many great options for zombie TV and movie fans until The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 premieres next year.
While Revival isn't a zombie series, it does have a lot of elements that fans of The Walking Dead will love.
Revival, which is based on the Tim Seeley and Mike Norton comic book series, premiered on Syfy and CTV on June 12, 2025, and ran for 10 episodes on the networks throughout the summer. The series tells the story of a small Wisconsin town and its residents as they try to navigate a tricky situation of a bunch of dead people waking up from the dead. They aren't feasting on brains, blood, and guts, though. These people have gotten a new lease on life, but how and why? Well, that's what you're about to find out if you want to check it out.

I don't know about you, but this show just seems right up the alley for fans of The Walking Dead. We all love a show about law enforcement officers trying to keep the peace and figure out how to keep people safe during a weird, paranormal, supernatural, or horrific occurrence. That's exactly what's going on here! Rick Grimes would fit in great in this show; that's for sure.
Unfortunately, Revival has not been renewed for season 2 on Syfy and CTV yet, even though it's been more than a year after the series premiered. There has been a development on that front, and Walking Dead fans can help save this great show!
Netflix is giving Revival a chance to pick up a season 2 renewal
After its premiere on Syfy and CTV, Revival had a successful streaming run on Peacock this year, and now, Netflix is giving the show a chance to prove it has a big enough audience to score a season 2 renewal, according to a report from What's on Netflix.
We don't know all of the specifics of the arrangement, but we're closing in on one month since Revival hit Netflix. We don't know how big of a runway Netflix is going to give this series, so if you have any interest in checking it out, it's time to start right now. Like, why are you still reading this? If there's one streaming service that has a decent-ish track record of picking up shows and giving them new life, it's definitely Netflix. It's been a few years since we've seen a big success, but it's easy to point to Lucifer and Manifest as examples of this licensing arrangement working out for Netflix. Some shows just catch fire on Netflix, and others don't. If someone could figure out what's going to work and what's not before it hits Netflix, they'd have a solid job at Netflix HQ.
Honestly, Revival probably needs all the help it can get to score a season 2 renewal. Since its release on Aug. 24, the series has not cracked the Netflix Top 10 for a full week in the United States. That's probably not the best scenario one month into this, but hopefully, there's still time.
