The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premiered on AMC and AMC+ on February 25. The series features the return of Rick and Michonne, whose presence has been greatly missed in The Walking Dead universe. Actors Andrew Lincoln and Dania Gurira left the series during seasons 9 and 10, respectively, but fans have always hoped they would return.
The Ones Who Live showrunner is TWD CCO Scott M. Gimple, who serves as an executive producer with Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth, Brian Bockrath, and Greg Nicotero. Pollyanna McIntosh also returns as Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes of the CRM (Civic Republic Military). Additional cast includes newcomers Lesley-Ann Brandt, Terry O’Quinn, Matthew August Jeffers, Donald Okafor, and returning cast Andrew Bachelor and Breeda Wool from season 10 of TWD.
Gimple, Lincoln, and Gurira co-wrote the first episode titled "Gone," with Gurira penning the fourth titled "What We." The fourth episode is said to be Richonne-centric. Brandt, who portrays Pearl Thorne, told ComicBook the episode is "pretty incredible" and "I think it's just for the purists. It's for the hardcore 'Richonners.' That episode is for them."
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Cast Diaries
Beginning February 29, new special bonus episodes of The Ones Who Live Cast Diaries will premiere exclusively on AMC+. These special episodes will feature exclusive interviews with the cast and creators of the six-part series. New episodes are released each Thursday in-season.
