The second installment of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol, "Moulin Rouge," is a wild story that includes a stop in Greenland, an apparent kidnapping, a French kiss, torture, and more.

Tread lightly as this article contains spoilers for episode 202, "Moulin Rouge," of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol.

Melissa McBride's Carol has wasted no time stepping back in to TWDU in her full glory. She is on a mission and nothing will stop her from accomplishing what she sets her mind to. Her latest quest is to located her best friend Daryl (Norman Reedus), whom she discovers has been transported to France.

In the season's first episode she met a man, Ash (Manish Dayal), a grieving parent who owns a plane. Carol used this to her advantage, lied to him, and persuaded him to attempt the overseas voyage to France.

"Moulin Rouge" highlights

The stop over in "Greenland," which was actually the French Alps, was breathtaking. The drone shots were incredible and it was the creators way to create a logical explanation as to how the small craft could successfully make the voyage.

Eun (Minami Bages) and Hanna's (Maria Erwolter) plan to repopulate the earth. Ash and Carol encounter people on Greenland, of which their reactions were completely opposite. Ash declared "People," while Carol added her unenthusiastic "Yeah, people," being much more attuned to people living in this world. They wanted to kill Carol and use Ash for procreation. It was a interesting side story, showing the mindset of others in different apocalyptic situations.

Ash and Carol arrive in France. Carol's joy at their arrival to their destination is a delight to see. This journey was full of unknowns and she likely didn't believe they would finally arrive. She immediately brushes Ash's attempts to join her in the search for her daughter, the lie she told him, when her ultimate plan was always to find Daryl. Their friendship has blossomed during their voyage but what will happen when Ash discovers the truth?

The Nest isn't all it seems to be. While the Union of Hope claims to be all about Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and his humanity saving destiny, it has slowly been revealed that things aren't all they seem. Losang (Joel de la Fuente) and his newly introduced sidekick Jacinta (Nassima Benchicou) continue conversations where they discuss the "ceremony," a test to prove Laurent's status. The members are beginning to lose faith in the movement.

Daryl longs to return home. His traumatic childhood has always hovered over him, making him feel unworthy of love. Even though he has been unconditionally accepted by Carol, Rick, Judith, and the others, he has always maintained the lone wolf persona. Now that he has been separated from his found family and realizes what he is missing, he longs to return. In France, he has befriended Laurent and serves as a father figure to him. He has also become quite close to Isabelle (Clemence Poesy), so much so that he has invited them to join him on his journey home.

Daryl and Isabelle kiss. This scene once again divides the fandom, as anything related to Daryl's love life seems to do. There are several reasons why this moment could have occurred, including Daryl's need to feel something, anything, as he is in a sad state, desperately missing his family. Perhaps he does have romantic feelings for Isabelle; only time will tell.

Daryl and Isabelle discover the truth about the Nest. The fake kidnapping of Laurent drew Daryl and Isabelle away from the Nest, as planned, in order to perform the ceremony that has been mentioned. Emile ((Tristan Zanchi) tells them of the plan to prove, once and for all that Laurent fulfills the promise of being humanities saving grace by receiving and surviving a walker bite.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol returns on October 13 with episode 3, "L'Invisible."
