Actor, comedian, director, writer, and presenter Stephen Merchant is gearing up for a voyage to Spain in the third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. AMC rolled out the second season of The Walking Dead in September, and fans are anxious to see what this season brings, especially with the reintroduction of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier.

Merchant took to social media to announce the casting news stating: ""As a fan of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’, I was excited when they asked me to join the #TWD universe for season 3. But don’t ask me for spoilers - my lips are sealed."

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the fifth spinoff of AMC's Walking Dead. The main series aired on the network from 2010 to 2022, and now, the spinoffs are the latest craze within TWDU, and Daryl Dixon ranks as one of the best.

The series followed Daryl (Norman Reedus) on a foced voyage to France where he encounters many new people in their fight for survivial. It is a cinemetograpic masterpiece, set and filmed in France. Many new characters were introduced in season 1, with several returning for season 2, including Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), Sylvie (Laïka Blanc-Francard), Genet (Anne Charrier), Losang (Joel de la Fuente) and more. The Resident actor Manish Dayal is a new cast member for the most recent season.

While no details have been shared regarding Merchant's role, the news that the spinoff has moved production and the setting to Spain for the third season has drummed up lots of excitement. The second season is currently airing new episodes on AMC and AMC+ on Sundays, with the season finale on November 3. Viewers must tune in to see if this season sets things up for the character's journey to Spain.

Merchant co-wrote and co-directed the British TV comedy The Office (2001-2003), which inspired the American series of the same name. He also co-developed the documentary series An Idiot Abroad for Sky One and co-created Lip Sync Battle.

He used his stand-up material as source materical for the HBO series Hello Laides, of which he wrote and starred. He is also known for his roles Logan, Jojo Rabbit, and Four Lives.

His most recent series, The Outlaws, is a Prime Video comedy crime series, of which he starred in, co-wrote, co-produced, and co-directed.
