Michelle Hurd is well known for many notable roles during her career. Star Trek fans know her as Raffi from Star Trek: Picard, Law & Order fans remember her as Monique Jeffries, and Walking Dead fans caught her brief appearance in the spinoff series, The Walking Dead: Dead City. During the red carpet event for Law & Order: SVU's 25th season celebration, Hurd talked about some of her roles with TV Insider.

Hurd shared that Raffi is her favorite charcter, a role she began portraying in the first season of Star Trek: Picard that premeired on CBS All Access in 2020. Rafaella "Raffi" Musiker is Jean -Luc Picard's (Patrick Stewert) former Starfleet first officer who struggles with substance abuse.

Star Trek: Picard is set to release the third and final season on February 16, and this season, like the previous two, will contain 10 episodes aired weekly.

While fans are eager to hear confirmation regarding the Legacy spinoff, it is likely that won't happen for some time. The franchise is currently working on the Section 31 movie for Michelle Yeoh, and then next up is the Starfleet Academy series, both of which will air on Paramount+. Hurd states that if there is still interest in Star Trek: Legacy, it may become a reality after those projects.

"“I love Raffi. She’s my favorite character,” Hurd shared. “We have hands, fingers, everything’s crossed for Star Trek: Legacy. I know that right now they’re working on Section 31 for Michelle Yeoh. And then they’re going to do Starfleet Academy. That’s going to be a series. And then if the fans still want it, they’ll start working on Star Trek: Legacy.” (And if you’d love to see Hurd and Yeoh team up in the world of Star Trek, you’re not the only one: “Wouldn’t that be phenomenal?” Hurd said. “I need to make a phone call.”)"
