Fourth and final season of Snowpiercer premieres on AMC and AMC+ this summer

The first and second seasons of the post-apocalyptic dystopia thriller Snowpiercer, which originally aired on TNT, are now available exclusively on AMC+. The third season will drop on June 8, followed by the debut of the fourth and final season on July 21 on AMC and AMC+.

The series, which was canceled by TNT and picked up by AMC, is based on the same-titled film directed by Oscar winner Bong Joon-ho and the French Graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Benjamin Legrand, and Jean-Marc Rochette. The series is produced by Tomorrow Studios with CJ Entertainment.

Snowpiercer, the series, is set in 2026 and takes place seven years after Earth has become a frozen wasteland and eight years before the film. The story follows survivors of The Freeze, a mass-extinction event, who live on a gigantic train, comprised of with 1001 cars, called Snowpiercer which continuously circles the globe. The train's constant motion creates the energy needed to prevent its inhabitants from freezing and was created by billionaire Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean). A new class system has been put in place and the series features topics of class warfare, social injustice, and survival. Season 4 will pick up where the action-packed finale of season 3 left off.

The series stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly, Grammy and Tony winning Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Emmy nominee Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, and Katie McGuinness. Rounding out the cast are Tony winning and Grammy nominee Lena Hall, Sam Otto, Chelsea Harris, Mike O’Malley, Roberto Urbina and Sheila Vand. Newcomers for season 4 include Clark Gregg, who is known for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Avengers, and Thor, and Tony winning Michael Aronov, known for The Drop, The Americans, and Operation Finale.

Several cast members exited the series in season 3, including Archie Panjabi, Annalise Basso, and Steven Ogg.

The latest teaser, below, captioned "Get ready for the ride of your life!" is extremely short but showcases the rising conflict between the survivors in a season that will conclude the story of the Snowpiercer series.
