Greg Kwedar's Sing Sing is based on a real Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing, a maximum-security prison operated by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision in the village of Ossining, New York. The movie stars Fear the Walking Dead and Rustin actor Colman Domingo and will be shown at the 2024 SXSW event.
Sing Sing premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where A24 picked it up and will release the movie in North American theaters sometime in 2024. The movie falls under the Festival Favorite category of SXSW, used for acclaimed standouts featured in festivals worldwide.
Sing Sing chronicles the rehabilitation program and the inmates who stage a play based on the program founded by the facility.

Domingo was honored at TIFF, receiving the Performer Award, which “recognizes an overall body of exceptional work.” He was one of seven recognized with this award and was honored for her impressive career and his performance in Sing Sing.
