How and when to watch the new Walking Dead spinoff starring Rick and Michonne

The introduction of numerous spinoffs has greatly expanded The Walking Dead universe. Fear the Walking Dead was the first spinoff, and this series ended its run after eight seasons in 2023. The newest spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, is a story fans have longed to see as Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira return to TWDU in their roles as Rick and Michonne.
AMC will premiere The Ones Who Live on Sunday, February 25, at 9 p.m. ET.
AMC+ subscribers will be able to view the episode early at 3 a.m. ET on that same day. Subscriptions for AMC begin as low as $4.99, with ads, and there is a 7-day free trial for new subscriptions.
The Ones Who Live episodes and release dates
The Ones Who Live is a six-part series with episodes airing weekly on Sundays.
- Episode 1 – “Years” - Premieres on Sunday, February 25
- Episode 2 – “Gone” - Premieres on Sunday, March 3
- Episode 3 – “Bye” - Premieres on Sunday, March 10
- Episode 4 – “What We” - Premieres on Sunday, March 17
- Episode 5 – “Become” - Premieres on Sunday, March 24
- Episode 6 – TBA - Premieres on Sunday, March 31
The Ones Who Live is a series that replaces the trilogy of movies initially announced with Andrew Lincoln's departure from the main series in season 9. Since then, plans changed, creating the sixth spinoff that will continue the "epic love story" of Rick and Michonne, who have been separated for years.
Joining Lincoln and Gurira in the new series is Pollyanna McIntosh, who reprises her role as Jadis from The Walking Dead and World Beyond. Andrew Bachelor and Breeda Wool return in their roles as Aiden and Bailey from season 10 of TWD.
Newcomers include Lesley-Ann Brandt as Pearl Thorne, Terry O’Quinn as Major Genera Beale of the CRM, Matthew August Jeffers as Nat, and Craig Tate as Lt. Col. Donald Okafor of the CRM.
Scott M. Gimple serves as showrunner for The Ones Who Live, and executive produces with Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth, Brian Bockrath, and Greg Nicotero.
