On Friday, October 4, Netflix will release a brand new movie, It's What's Inside, starring Fear the Walking Dead's Alycia Debnam-Carey.

It's What's Inside is a trippy, genre-bending story directed by Greg Jardin that generated much buzz at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, the world premiere of the film. Netflix won the bidding war for the movie for $17 million, the largest deal of the 2024 festival. It's What's Inside is co-produced by Such Content, Boldy Go, and fellow Fear TWD actor Colman Domingo's Edith Productions. Domingo and Robert Kapp are executive producers, with William Rosenfeld, Kate Andrews, Jason Baum, and Raul Domingo, Colman Domingo's husband, producing.

The movie isn't what viewers or critics expected when it was touted as a horror. Jardin explains, "We never considered it horror. I’d say it’s a sci-fi thriller with jokes." I don't want to give away the details here, as it seems to give away a lot of mystery about the movie. You can read further information via Tudum's interview with Jardin and Domingo.

It's What's Inside cast

  • Brittany O'Grady as Shelby
  • James Morosini as Cyrus, Shelby's boyfriend

Next, Debnam-Carey will star in a limited Netflix original Apple Cider Vinegar, with Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick, Unbelievable) and Aisha Dee (The Bold Type, Safe Home). The story is based on the true account of an online influencer who fakes a cancer diagnosis to peddle her cookbook and mobile app.

The series, directed by Jeffrey Walker and written by creator Samantha Strauss, also stars Tilda Cobham-Hervey (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, I Am Woman), Ashley Zukerman (Succession), and Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin).

Official synopsis: Apple Cider Vinegar takes place at the birth of social media and follows two young women – Belle and Milla – who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, motivating their growing online communities along the way.
