The Walking Dead has often featured midseason premiere episodes in February, the same month the Super Bowl has been played since 2004, so it only makes sense that AMC and other outlets would feature the wildly popular series in a commerical that airs during the big game.

During Super Bowl XLVII in 2013, Time Warner Cable ran a fun Walking Dead commerical featuring Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon. His "Yes ma'am" at the end is an amazing final touch to an already great commercial.

AMC ran a promotional commercial for a Walking Dead marathon called Zombie Bowl that was held on the network the same day as Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014. The spot also promoted the return of The Walking Dead on AMC on February 9.

During Super Bowl LI in 2017, AMC featured the commercial below to hype up the premiere of season 7 of The Walking Dead, which is one of the most divisive episodes of the series. The episode "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" features Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) lineup, where Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) are killed by Negan's favorite weapon, a barbed wire-wrapped bat named Lucille, after his deceased wife.

In 2022, at Super Bowl LVI, AMC featured its first Super Bowl ad since 2017, which was narrated by Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul actor Giancarlo Esposito, a promoted series airing in 2022. The spot promoted the final seasons of The Walking Dead, Killing Eve, Better Call Saul, and the premiere episode of Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire.

In 2019, AMC held a Walking Dead Super Bowl party in Atlanta of which the only media outlet present was A-Scene. Take a peek below. The event was attended by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, Cooper Andrews, and Dallas Austin, Georgia local, music and film producer, and mega Walking Dead fan.
