The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the fifth spinoff in The Walking Dead universe, with this series expanding Daryl's (Norman Reedus) story with an overseas adventure to France. The first season chronicled Daryl's journey to France and featured many new faces, some friendly, others not so much. The first season also teased the return of Carol (Melissa McBride) to the franchise. In a recent interview with Collider, Reedus set the bar high for expectations regarding the season 2 finale.

The second season of Daryl Dixon has been subtitled The Book of Carol as it will heavily feature the character's return. At the end of season 1, Carol was seen actively tracking a man riding Daryl's motorcycle somewhere in Maine. She began her search there because that was the last known location of her best friend. Before being thrown onto a ship bound for France, Daryl was able to make a quick radio call to Carol at the Commonwealth. He told her of his location and that he would return to the community in a week.

The Book of Carol will feature Carol's journey in the States while also telling of Daryl's continued plight in France for the Union of Hope. Fans are eager to see these two characters reunite, as their stories have always been intertwined.

During an interview with Collider’s Editor-in-Chief Steve Weintraub about his latest project, The Bikeriders, Reedus made a bold statement about the upcoming season of Daryl Dixon.

"We're about to start Season 3, but I will say the finale of Season 2 is the best one-hour Walking Dead anything ever. I've said it in press before. I stick to it. It's mind-blowing."

Norman Reedus

The series has been renewed for a third season and has been rumored to be filming in Spain. Reedus confirmed the new location in an interview with American Rider (below). He also talks about his role as Funny Sonny in the new film and future plans for Ride with Norman Reedus, the motorcycle travel series that Reedus hosts.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on September 29 at 9 p.m. The series showrunner is David Zabel, who is also an executive producer with TWD COO Scott M. Gimple; Daryl Dixon stars Reedus and McBride with Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman, and Steve Squillante.

Several cast members will return for season 2, including Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, Laika Blanc Francard, and Eriq Ebouaney. Manish Dayal, known for his work on The Resident, joins the cast this season.
