Superman and Lois teaser features Michael Cudlitz voice as Lex Luther for final season

"Superman is dead," a statement from Lex Luther, portrayed by Walking Dead's Michael Cudlitz, in the recent teaser for the fourth and final season of the Superman & Lois series. In the teaser, Luther talks to an unseen person and adds, "Can we please just enjoy the moment." You can view the teaser below.

The official full length trailer for season 4 will debut at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) on July 7.

In 2023, it was announced that Cudlitz had joined Superman & Lois as the DC villain Lex Luthor. He would appear in the third season's final two episodes and will be seen in the fourth and final 10-part season that premieres on The CW, October 17th with a 2-hour season debut.

Earlier this year Cudlitz posted on Twitter (now called X) saying goodbye to Luthor, adding that the role was one of the highlights of his career.

Superman & Lois season 4

Based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster for DC Comics, Superman & Lois was developed by Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti for The CW. The series premiered in 2021 and begins with Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane returning to Smallville after living in Metropolis. They are accompanied by their teen sons, Jonathan and Jordan. The couple juggle their lives as a superhero and famed journalist and all of the pressures that come with their careers and parenting.

Throughout the three seasons, Superman and Lois encounter many villains. In season 4, Luthor, recently released from prison for a crime he didn't commit, will seek revenge. Will Superman survive? Or does the teaser reveal his fate?

Significant changes will occur to the cast in season 4. Chiriqui, Valdez, Navarette, Parks, Buck, and Hasmik have been demoted to guest stars, and Walsh will not return as Sam Lane in the final season. Hoechlin, Tulloch, Bishop, and Garfin continue as series regulars, with Cudlitz added to that list. This season will also see the introduction of Smith as Jimmy Olson.

Cudlitz recently stars in the crime drama Unspoken, directed by Daming Chen, and the dramedy Beautiful Disaster, which also stars Dylan Sprouse and Virginia Gardner.
