Actor Danny Ramirez recently participated in a live read of Justine Triet's Anatomy Of A Fall in February at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. He is well known for his roles in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Top Gun: Maverick and one episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, a spinoff of the long-running Walking Dead series. Variety reports that Ramirez has recently been announced as cast in the second season of The Last of Us.

The series, created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO, is based on The Last of Us video game developed by Naughty Dog. The storyline is set 20 years after fungal infections caused a worldwide pandemic that collapsed society.

The first season followed Joel (Pedro Pascal), who was charged with transporting Ellie (Bella Ramsey) through the apocalypse-ridden United States as she is immune to the fungus, which would aid in finding a cure or vaccine. The second season will likely adapt the 2020 sequel game which follows the story of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever).

Ramirez, who will play a character named Manny, who is a soldier, was announced with Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Spencer Lord, who join previously announced Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, and Catherine O'Hara. They will join Pascal and Ramsey, who reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie.

The Last of Us season 1 can be streamed on Max. Take a look at the season 1 trailer below.
