Simmons, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson, who all reprise their roles from the first film. Pineda was announced along with other newcomers, Allison Robertson, Robert Morgan, and Grant Harvey.

The second film tells of Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson), who enlists the help of Christian Wolff (Affleck) to solve the murder of her boss, who was killed by assassins. Christian, with the help of his estranged and lethal brother Brax (Bernthal), uses less than legal methods and Christian's brilliant mind to discover the truth behind the murder. "As they get closer to the truth, the trio draws the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive — all intent on putting a stop to their search."
