Prime Video posted a new promo image on social media to celebrate Homelander's birthday, revealing the release date for season 4 of The Boys as June 13, 2024. The fourth season's release mirrors previous seasons, with three episodes on the premiere date and the remaining episodes to follow weekly, with the finale airing on July 18. The upcoming season includes Walking Dead and Dead City actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan among its cast in an undisclosed role.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan isn't the only Walking Dead universe actor who stars in the series.
- Jessie T. Usher, who plays A-Train, also starred in an episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, which premiered in the summer of 2022. Usher stars as the titular character in episode 5, "Davon."
- Colby Minifie portrays Ashley Barrett, who starred in the first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, during seasons 5 and 6.
- Laurie Holden played The Crimson Countess and Andrea in The Walking Dead during seasons 1-3.
- Laila Robins portrayed Lieutenant-Colonel Grace Mallory and joined The Walking Dead in its final season as Governor Pamela Milton.
