The Ones Who Live actress Pollyanna McIntosh talks Jadis' hair & THAT line from Rick

Jadis is a character originally introduced in season 7 of The Walking Dead. Portrayed by Pollyanna McIntosh, Jadis is the first character to have significant roles in three of the series within The Walking Dead universe. She also appeared in the two-season limited series, World Beyond, and now in the sixth, The Ones Who Live. One topic of conversation regarding Jadis is her hair. She has had some decent styles and some really awful ones, and she addresses the cuts in an interview with AMC Talk.

Of course, the first topic discussed in the interview was Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) recent comment in episode 3 of The Ones Who Live. He tells her, "You're a hero with a shit haircut," voicing something we are all thinking. It was hilarious to see Jadis smirk after. McIntosh remarked that they all had a good laugh during this scene, and it was a line added later as it wasn't included in the first script she read. She stated, "We've got to get T-shirts made of that."

When McIntosh was cast as Jadis for TWD, she was fresh off filming a movie, Revenge Ride, where she played the leader of an all-female biker gang and had the original Jadis cut. She didn't have time to change it, and the TWD crew wanted her to keep it and just "dirty up the blonde a bit." McIntosh has enjoyed all the memes created around this haircut and comparisons to Dumb and Dumber, He-Man, Little Lord Fauntleroy, and Lord Farquaad from Shrek.

By season 9, Jadis' hair grew into a very nice curly do that would also be featured in a flashback during The Ones Who Live.

In World Beyond, Jadis, once again became the butt of many jokes regarding her new hairstyle.

McIntosh had the idea to go all Joan of Arc with Jadis' look in World Beyond. She's her own woman and now a soldier, like Joan of Arc, so it made sense to run with that. In the interview, McIntosh shared that she thought it would be fine as it would grow out after the role. But added...

"Well, I didn't think that three years later, once it'd finally grown out to a bit of a bob, I'd have to cut the bloody thing back up again! [Laughs] I really brought all this upon myself is what I'm saying."

It's easy to poke fun at Jadis' hair, but she is truly a threat to Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in The Ones Who Live. She has threatened Rick with harm to his loved ones, including his children. How will he break free from the CRM? Hopefully, we will find out before the end of the series.
