The long-awaited reunion between Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) was featured in episode one of The Walking Dead spinoff, The Ones Who Live. While Michonne is still the same badass featured in the main series, the CRM's (Civic Republic Military) effects on Rick have greatly altered the former leader of the survivors from TWD. In episode 3, Michonne reveals a secret to Rick.

This article contains spoilers for episode 4, "What We," of The Walking Dead - The Ones Who Live.

After the previous episode's cliffhanger of Michonne grabbing Rick and hurtling them into the darkness from the CRM helicopter, viewers were anxious to see what would happen next. Gurira confirmed that the duo jumped into the water, but due to budget constraints, this wasn't filmed. Episode 3, written by Gurira, is a Richonne-centric story in which Rick learns new information that will significantly impact him.

In episode 2, viewers saw the reunion, which was teased in the first episode, of Rick and Michonne, and their conversation naturally led to Judith and her well-being. It was unclear why, but Michonne omitted the part about Rick having a son. In episode 4, Michonne finally tells him about RJ, who is almost eight. Initially, Rick doesn't know how to respond, and Michonne notes he doesn't even ask questions about him.

He eventually gets all the info about RJ, and Michonne confesses she has lost contact with them and doesn't know how they are. Even this doesn't convince Rick they must return to their previous communities. What else is going on with Rick that hasn't been revealed?

Rick is not the same man Michonne knew before the bridge explosion, which is now confirmed to have been over eight years ago. The CRM has truly brainwashed him or something and Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) has issued threats that have made him genuinely fearful for his family. Will the apocalyptic power couple be able to recover from these setbacks?
