Many cast members from the first season of The Walking Dead hold a special place in the hearts of fans. That is the case with Jim, a member of the original Atlanta group, portrayed by Andrew Rothenberg. It has been years since his brief appearance in the series. What else has he starred in?
Jim first appeared in The Walking Dead season 1, episode 2, "Guts." Always a helpful and friendly man, he was seen helping Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) work on his RV. By the season's fourth episode, "Vatos," Jim begins to act strange. He starts digging several holes in the hillside, an act that begins to make the other members of the group nervous.
When he is approached, he becomes agitated, and Shane (Jon Bernthal) feels he has no choice but to restrain him. He eventually apologizes to Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Sophia (Madison Lintz) for scaring them. When asked, he can't recall why he was digging the holes. That night, the camp is overrun with walkers, and Jim is bitten on the stomach, but not before he can take out the walker that killed Amy (Emma Bell). After the attack, Jim states that he remembers why he dug the holes that were part of his dream, implying they were graves for the dead.
In "Wildfire," Jim aids in the cleanup of the camp and refuses to expose his abdomen when Jacqui (Jeryl Prescott) inquires about the blood on his shirt. It is soon discovered he was bitten, and he is placed in the RV with the other survivors as they leave the campsite. He is soon overcome with fever and begins to vomit. He asks to be left behind so he doesn't hurt anyone if the worst happens. His fate was never revealed, but he most likely succumbed to the virus and became a walker.
