Walking Dead universe is heading to San Diego Comic-Com with Daryl Dixon & Dead City
By Renee Hansen
The most highly anticipated pop culture event of the year, San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), is coming soon. Held at the San Diego Convention Center, this year's event runs from July 25 to 28 and marks the first year since 2019 that things are back to normal after the pandemic and strikes affected previous events. The Walking Dead universe will be there in full force with panels for two spinoffs, Daryl Dixon and Dead City.
The Walking Dead has always used SDCC as a kick-off to new seasons, which traditionally premiered in the fall. The summer event was the perfect way to promote the series and get fans excited for the upcoming season. The first TWD appearance at the event occurred in 2010, just months before the series' debut in October. The first panel at the event consisted of AMC executive Joel Stillerman and executive producers Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, and showrunner Frank Darabont. The second part of the panel introduced Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, and Emma Bell as cast members for the series.
