Jadis is a character introduced in The Walking Dead series, portrayed by Pollyanna McIntosh, who is well known for unique hairstyles as much as she is known for flipping sides. Introduced in season 7 of the series as the leader of the Scavengers, a group who resided in a junkyard, Jadis negotiated with the Civic Republic Military to give the people in exchange for supplies. Now she will star in the sixth spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which focuses on Rick and Michonne; whose side will she be on?

Jadis struck a deal with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to aid him and his communities in the war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors. Even thought Rick provided her group with the promised guns, she betrayed Rick by negotiating another deal with Negan.

This returned to haunt her when she flipped sides again, and Negan sent his right hand, Simon (Steven Ogg), to deal with her betrayal. Simon is ordered to kill one of her people but instead kills both of her most trusted, Tamiel (Sabrina Gennarino) and Brion (Thomas Francis Murphy). This enraged Jadis; she attacked Simon, who promptly ordered the massacre of the Scavengers. Jadis is the sole survivor of her people, and to protect herself, she eliminates all of the reanimated Scavengers in a huge grinder, watching everyone she cares about being ground into a pulp.

After the war with Negan ends, Morgan (Lennie James) invites Jadis, who has been taken by her real name, Anne, to join Alexandria. A year and a half later, Anne has acclimated to civilian life and becomes romantically involved with Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam).

The Walking Dead - Jadis and the CRM

When Rick questions her about a man's disapperance Anne becomes nervous, returns to the junkyard to retreive a long-range walkie-talkie, radios a man requesting extraction. He demands she give something in return, an A, which she promises she will have the following day.

This is when Anne finally admits what many viewers suspected: she traded humans for supplies with the CRM. She radios the helicopter and lies, stating she has an A. This is when she discovers Rick injured from the bridge explosion on the river bank. She radios that she has an injured B, but he is strong and needs medical attention ASAP. Giving him the designation be, we now know, did save his life.

The next time Jadis is seen is in the spinoff, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, where she becomes a warrant officer for the CRM. She used Rick as her ticket to gain entrance to the organization and, selfish as always, used this to her advantage.

Even in World Beyond, Jadis continues to do what's best for her. She uses Lt. Col. Kublek (Julia Ormond) as a scapegoat, and mortally wounds her mentor Huck (Annet Mahendru) who was Kublek's daughter.

Jadis will return in The Ones Who Live spinoff, which airs new episodes on AMC and AMC+ on Sundays through March 31, when the finale airs. Many have questioned what side she will take. Will she uphold her commitment to the CRM or try to redeem herself and help Rick? As always, Jadis will do what is best for her, even if it means she must betray someone.
