Where does Dead City's Jeffrey Dean Morgan rank on Rankers Hottest Men Over 40 list?

One area of interest in The Walking Dead fandom is the ranking of our favorite series, actors, and characters. Recently, the site conducted a poll ranking the hottest male celebs over 40. Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan made the list; where did he rank?

Morgan currently sits at No. 7 on the list, but fans can up-vote their favorites to raise their ranking. Who beat him out? The number one spot is held by Australian actor Hugh Jackman, who is followed by Robert Downey Jr., Patrick Dempsey, Bradley Cooper, Keanu Reeves, and Johnny Depp. Morgan's close friend Paul Rudd, who he co-owns Samuels Sweet Shop in upstate New York, came in at No. 8, followed by Shemar Moore and Gerald Butler to round out the top 10.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan's most memorable roles

Morgan is best known for his role as Negan Smith in The Walking Dead. Negan is a villain who began terrorizing his followers, known as the Saviors, and the communities surrounding his home, the Sanctuary. He eventually took drastic strides to redeem himself and is now featured in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Dead City. The second season of that spinoff will return to AMC in 2025.

While many die-hard fans of ABC's long-running hospital drama Grey's Anatomy didn't like Morgan's heart transplant patient, Denny Duquette, there are many who adored him. Denny was a kind-hearted man, and his love story with Izzie (Katherine Heigl) struck a chord with many viewers.

Morgan talked about Denny during his appearance on the YouTube series Hot Ones.

"Grey’s Anatomy I knew was something special. That’s the one time that I saw my death coming and I was trying everything I could do to get out of that death...That character, Denny, and that love story with Izzie kind of took the world by storm. I knew how f---ing lucky I was to be there."

Morgan portrayed the patriarch of the Winchester family, John Winchester, in Supernatural. This is another role that Morgan portrayed which fans loved watching him play. They may not have liked his storyline, but Morgan is such a great actor that he is fascinating to watch, even when you dislike his character.

He portrayed The Comedian in Zack Synder's film Watchmen. Although opinions are divided on whether or not the movie was good, most agree Morgan's portrayal was outstanding.
