In January 2025, Peacock announced a new series, The Five-Star Weekend, based on the same-titled New York Times bestselling novel written by Elin Hilderbrand. Recently, Deadline announced the addition of several new cast members, including Josh Hamilton, an actor who starred in the eleventh and final season of AMC's The Walking Dead.

Created by Bekah Brunstetter (Maid, This Is Us), The Five-Star Weekend was written by Beth Schacter (Billions, Super Pumped). Hilderbrand joins Schacter and Jennifer Garner, who also stars, as executive producers. Emmy Award winners Sue Naegle (Pam and Tommy, The Day of the Jackal) and Ali Krug (Pam and Tommy, The Staircase) produce under their Dinner Party Productions banner.

Harlow Jane (She Came to Me, High Desert) and Garner have been cast in leading roles alongside previously announced Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan, and Timothy Olyphant. Recurring roles will be portrayed by David Denman (Peacemaker, Rebel Ridge), Josh Hamilton (The Walking Dead, The Last Thing He Told Me), and Rob Huebel (Sex Lives of College Girls, Transparent).

The story follows Garner's Hollis Shaw, a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor. After the devastating loss of her husband, the picture perfect life led by Hollis is exposed revealing a strained marriage, relationship complications with her daughter, and her obsession in receiving validation from her followers.

Hollis formulates a plan to help overcome her grief by hosting a "five-star getaway" at her home in Nantucket. She is joined by people from different stages of her life, a childhood friend, a college roommate, an adult friend, and another she met from her blog, who is a stranger with her own secrets. The weekend is intended to be a time of healing, documented by Hollis' daughter.

The Five-Star Weekend will air on Peacock.

Mark Hamill portrays the major who oversees the contest and is joined by an all-star cast comprised of Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Joshua Odjick, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Josh Hamilton, and Judy Greer,

The Long Walk premiered in theaters beginning September 12, 2025.

Hamilton will also appear in Oscar-nominated Noah Baumbach's Netflix film, John Kelly, described as a "heartbreaking comedy." The movie will debut in theaters on November 14 prior to its Netflix release on December 5.
