The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon S3 Spanish settings feature ruins, an exciting train sequence, and more.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returns to AMC and AMC+ for a third season in 2025. The series is one of AMC's most watched, and this is due, in part, to the fantastic backdrop of France in seasons 1 & 2. The third season, which is currently filming, will be set in Spain, once again reinventing and expanding TWDU.
Series EP Steve Squillante recently chatted with Variety about the new season and the appeal of filming in Spain. The publication reports that top producers flock to film in Spain due to the crews, locations, service companies, and increased tax breaks implemented in 2024.
Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) were finally reunited in season 2 of Daryl Dixon. The season ends with the duo traveling via the Chunnel to England, where they will encounter newly cast Stephan Merchant's "very interesting character." From there they will find their way to Spain where new adventures await.
Daryl Dixon - filming in Spain
Squillante shares that 95%+ of the season will be filmed in Spain with 90%+ Spanish crew. This gives authenticity to the setting and story that will be told across the country in important locations. One of those locations is in Aragón, in the ruins of Belchite, a town near Zaragoza that was the site of a massive battle of the Spanish Civil War from 1936-39.
Another scene was filmed near Aragón using a "fallow train line." Squillante says the train sequence will "blow people away." The series will also visit Galicia and Alicante, Seville and Granada.
The Daryl Dixon spinoff is the first to feature the majority of its filming in other countries. This has provided breathtaking cinematography and given viewers a look at how different parts of the world have fared since the outbreak.
The second season featured the reunion between Carol and Daryl but also saw Daryl experience the loss of Isabelle, who died, and Laurent who, for his safety, was sent on a voyage to the United States. Little details have been released for the third season's plot but the teaser gives major Western vibes.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returns to AMC and AMC+ exclusively in 2025.
