For the past six weeks, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has treated viewers to one of the most unique adventures that the TWD Universe has ever seen. Norman Reedus' weary warrior and his best friend Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) have ventured through the Atlantic shores in the hopes of getting back home to America, but upon getting shipwrecked, they have found themselves in Spain instead.

This season has differentiated itself from the previous two extremely well, offering up a unique tone - like that of a Spaghetti Western - while also providing us with plenty of stunning visuals from the picturesque landscapes of the Spanish countryside. But there's plenty of that familiar TWD action and conflict as Daryl and Carol find themselves in the center of a problem that they could help solve if they decided to stick around for a while.

That could very well be a question that the pair are forced to answer in the upcoming finale of the season. If you're ready to check it out, here's what you need to know.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 finale release date

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 episode 7, titled "Solaz del Mar", is set to be released next Sunday, October 19, on AMC and AMC+. It will air for linear viewers on AMC at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT in the typical timeslot that has been associated with the TWD shows for years. If you can't wait that long, you'll be happy to know that you can stream the episode almost a whole day earlier on AMC+, as it premieres from midnight on the streaming platform.

The finale is set to bring all of the ongoing storylines to a head as it seemingly forces Daryl and Carol to contend with whether they should truly go home yet or if they should stay behind and help the people of Solaz del Mar. This has been an ongoing conversation between the pair as Carol, with her newfound hopeful and peaceful attitude towards life, wants to help Roberto and Justina be together away from the fears of El Alcazar, while Daryl just wants to go home. He's been running his whole life, so he wants to go back home to Alexandria and the Commonwealth.

AMC released an exclusive clip from the finale in honor of the show's NYCC panel which teases just that. But if you really want a preview of what to expect from the next episode, AMC+ has indeed released the first trailer for the upcoming season finale. Watch it below:

Are the pair ready to go home or is there more fighting to be done? That's a question you can only know the answer to if you have watched the penultimate episode of the season (and we certainly aren't going to spoil that for you!).

It goes without saying that they have held their own in plenty of situations and it's clear that they will continue to do so. The question is: Will they be forced to do that once again in a showdown with all the might of El Alcazar? If they want Justina and Elena back, then the answer is probably yes. We know that Daryl and Paz have gone to find them in Barcelona but the clip above makes it clear that he returns to Carol in the finale. So where does that leave them ahead of the next installment?

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for a fourth and final season, so there are more adventures ahead for Daryl and Carol. And, with production ongoing in Spain, something tells us that a fight with El Alcazar might indeed be in the horizon. But, as the trailer implies, there may be another fight on their hands too.

Nothing is ever simple in the TWD Universe!
