The story of Daryl Dixon will continue in the six-part third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon on AMC and AMC+ in 2025. The series will take Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) on a journey away from France into new and unfamiliar territory.

Daryl Dixon is the fifth spinoff of The Walking Dead which continues and expands the stories of Daryl and Carol, who joined in the second second, subtitled The Book of Carol. During the season 2 finale Daryl and Carol were traveling to England via the Chunnel and in season 3 the duo will find their way to Spain.

Rumors spread that series was renewed for a third season and at SDCC 2024 the offiical announcement was made. Along with this announcement came the news that the series, which was filmed and set in France for seasons 1 and 2, would move its story to Spain.

Both Reedus and McBride will return for the third season but due to deaths and other events it is unclear if any characters from the first two seasons will join them.
Emmy-winning Stephen Merchant has been announced for the upcoming season where he will portray what showrunner David Zabel describes as "a very interesting character" whom Daryl and Carol will encounter in the first episode.
At the beginning of Sept. 2024 several new cast members were announced, including Eduardo Noriega, Alexandra Masangkay, Hugo Arbués, and Candela Saitta. Additional cast members were then announced on Sept 26, Cuco Usín, Gonzalo Bouza, Greta Fernández, Hada Nieto, Stephen Merchant, Yassmine Othman, Irina Björklund, Armando Buika, Javier Taboada, Boré Buika, Anna Gras, Claudio Bandini, Pedro Bachura and Elena Sándell.

So far, the only announcement for the third season's debut is that it will happen in 2025. The previous two seasons of Daryl Dixon premiered in Sept. so the upcoming season will likely follow that pattern.

A teaser trailer was revealed in 2024 showcasing the new season which has a very Western feel. The caption reads: Their journey continues together, but some of the clips feature Daryl and Carol on their own.
There has been much chatter about the final clip of the teaser, which features Daryl and Carol in conversation where Carol's shoulder is exposed. Some wonder if their relationship will take a turn, but she has likely experienced an injury or something like.
