The post-apocalyptic world has never looked better, and it's all thanks to the release of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3. The AMC spin-off series has been reinvigorated with life now that Seth Hoffman has taken the reins as the showrunner. Previous antagonists like the Dama and the Croat have been taken out of the picture, while new characters have made their debuts and proven to be fantastic company for Maggie Rhee and Negan alike.

Unfortunately, not everything is sunshine and rainbows, as not only have the walkers proven to be as dangerous as ever, but a new set of challenges has arisen now that Maggie and Renata are leading their own group of survivors. Their safe haven isn't as safe as initially expected, and the survivors are bound to be anxious after an earthquake nearly destroyed their way of life. On the bright side, it won't be long before we find out how Maggie and Renata will deal with this problem.

What to expect in the fifth episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3, episode 4 had many shocking developments that are bound to be followed up on this week. For starters, Maggie seems to be moving on from her late husband, Glenn Rhee. After all, she has been growing closer to Luis and even imagined herself kissing him. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops in episode 5 of the spin-off show.

Of course, the elephant in the room is what will happen to Maggie and Renata's community after an earthquake destroyed the pantry and tons of food supplies with it. While a group of survivors was planting crops a few episodes back, it's unlikely that they will be fully grown by now. As such, there could be a chance that Maggie, Negan, Dillard, Renata, and Luis will need to venture into the city once more to look for supplies.

It isn't out of the realm of possibility that Maggie and Renata will need to look for a new hideout as well. After all, the ground has literally collapsed near the hospital. This would present an incredible number of challenges for the entire community that has been living under the same roof, but it would also pose an interesting scenario for the show to tackle.

Now that we're heading into the second half of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3, the stakes will be higher than ever, and we can't wait to see how Maggie and Negan deal with the obstacles ahead.

The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 5 will be released on Aug. 23, 2026.
