AMC recently revealed The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3 premiere date. The new season begins on Sunday, July 26, but it's going to be another quick season of The Walking Dead spinoff series.

Now, AMC has officially confirmed the Dead City season 3 finale date. The new season of Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's series will come to an end on Sunday, Sept. 13.

We knew there would be eight episodes in Dead City season 3, but it was unclear if AMC would air them in order or even double-up on episodes. Now that we know the Dead City season 3 finale date. We also know the Dead City season 3 episode schedule.

Dead City season 3 episode schedule

As mentioned, we'll see new episodes of Dead City season 3 on Sunday nights on AMC beginning on July 26. The season continues through Sept. 13.

  • Episode 1: Sunday, July 26
  • Episode 2: Sunday, Aug. 2
  • Episode 3: Sunday, Aug. 9
  • Episode 4: Sunday, Aug. 16
  • Episode 5: Sunday, Aug. 23
  • Episode 6: Sunday, Aug. 30
  • Episode 7: Sunday, Sept. 6
  • Episode 8 (finale): Sunday, Sept. 13

In other words, it's going to be a great end of the summer for fans of The Walking Dead. It's wild to think that we're going to be getting new episodes of The Walking Dead franchise.

It's been so long since we watched Dead City season 2 on AMC (and Netflix, for those who don't watch the show live). The second season came to an end on June 22, 2025. Honestly, the second season wasn't my favorite of The Walking Dead spinoffs, but I have high hopes for season 3.

Dead City season 3 has a better direction than season 2. For the first time, it feels like we have a clear purpose for hanging out with these characters since, well, season 1. Maggie and Negan are teaming up again to take back Manhattan, and they've assembled quite the team to make it happen.

We've also learned that Aimee Garcia, Raul Castillo, and Jimmi Simpson are joining the third season, and the characters they are playing sound excellent. Garcia and Castillo are playing Renata and Luis, a brother-sister pair who are ready to help out Maggie and Hershel. I'm most excited to see Simpson as Dillard, a certified weirdo who owns a bar.

Based on the trailer, everything just feels a little different heading into season 3 of the series. Tonally, the show has always kind of felt like this, but it feels fresher for some reason. Maybe that's just a me thing.

Daryl Dixon season 4 might premiere in September after all

With Dead City season 3 wrapping up a little earlier than expected, there's a very strong likelihood that we'll see The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4 premiere a little bit earlier than we were expecting.

With Dead City season 3 hitting AMC at the end of July, I was thinking we might be waiting until October, at the earliest, to see Daryl Dixon season 4 premiere. Well, now, that Dead City season 3 ends in mid-September, that opens up a few weekends for Daryl Dixon season 4 to premiere.

We still don't know for sure what AMC has planned for the final season of the series starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, but it's definitely worth keep an eye on those last two weeks in September as the possible premiere of Daryl Dixon season 4.
