USA Network ordered the series, which is scheduled for a 2026 release, from Cineflix Studios and December Films. Showrunner Morwyn Brebner (Rookie Blue, Saving Hope) will executive produce with Lea Thompson (Back to the Future), who will also serve as a director for the series.
Barr has penned 19 Anna Pigeon books that are set in various national parks and other protected areas of the United States.

Coates joined the cast of Dead City during the series' second season as a Manhattan gang leader named Bruegel. The actor did an incredible job bringing the unhinged character to life. In an interview, Coates described Bruegel, stating, "He's conniving, he's funny, he's a dink, he's smart, he's a coward." Sadly, the character met his match in Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and was killed before the season's end.
He is very well known for his portrayal of Alexander "Tig" Trager in Kurt Sutter's crime drama, Sons of Anarchy, and reprised the role in the spinoff series Mayans M.C. In early 2025, Coates portrayed Brigham Young in the Netflix series American Primeval. Other recent roles include The White House Plumbers, The Getback, and Double Down South. His credits include recurring roles in Prison Break, Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and CSI: Miami.
Next, Coates will star in a romantic comedy, Solo Mio, alongside Kevin James which is scheduled to be released in February 2026.
