AMC Networks and Netflix have a long-running agreement that features several AMC programs on the streamer. Netflix has long been the home of the entire Walking Dead series, and in 2024, several other titles were added. Sadly, as with most agreements of this type, there is an expiration date.

Netflix has featured AMC's Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and TWD original series for some time. In August 2024, all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead, the franchise's first spinoff, and season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon were added to the streamer. Additionally, Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, Dark Winds, Preacher, and more had also been added.

In 2025, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, the Rick and Michonne spinoff, was added, followed by Maggie and Negan's story, The Walking Dead: Dead City, in March.

The Ones Who Live is leaving Netflix on August 19

Netflix recently announced its new titles for August 2025, which also included a list of titles being removed. Included in the removal list is The Ones Who Live, which will be leaving the streamer on August 19.

This news will sadden many fans of the series who truly enjoyed the continuation of Rick and Michonne's epic love story. The limited series features six episodes that chronicle the couple's journey to return to one another and beyond.

To the delight of fans, Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprised their roles as Rick and Michonne for the sixth spinoff in the franchise. They made their exits from the main series in seasons 9 and 10, respectively. Pollyanna McIntosh returned as Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes, as she was known in the World Beyond spinoff. Prior to that, she played the same character, known as Jadis and Anne, in the main series.

Breeda Wool and Andrew Bachelor returned as Aiden and Bailey, characters seen briefly in Michonne's final scene of TWD. The series introduced many new faces to TWDU, including Lesley-Ann Brandt, Terry O'Quinn, Matthew Jeffers, Craig Taite, and Frankie Quinones.

The Walking Dead's Chief Content Officer, Scott M. Gimple, served as showrunner and executive produced with Lincoln, Gurira, and TWD veterans Denise Huth, Brian Bockrath, and Greg Nicotero.

While The Ones Who Live was limited, Gimple has stated that it is possible Rick and Michonne could be seen in another series in the future. This is excellent news for fans of Richonne. Many viewers believe The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live to be the best spinoff of the franchise. Be sure to watch this one before August 19 on Netflix.
