The Walking Dead showrunner says this actor would crush Survivor

If you were wondering which star of The Walking Dead has what it takes to outwit, outplay, and outlast, The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple revealed his pick at San Diego Comic-Con.

If you have ever wondered just which star of The Walking Dead would hold their own and win a season of the hit CBS reality series Survivor, hosted by Jeff Probst, you're not alone! At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, a fan asked the members of The Walking Dead panel which star would perform the best out in Fiji.

The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Lived showrunner Scott Gimple had a very simple answer.

"Christian Serratos," he said.

Unfortunately, Gimple didn't offer any reasons why Serratos would win Survivor, but the criteria is the criteria, you know? It takes a special kind of person to outwit, outplay, and outlast the competition, and clearly Gimple thinks Serratos has what it takes.

Serratos starred as Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead during seasons 4 through 12, which crossed over with Gimple's run as the showrunner of the series between seasons 4 and 8. Rosita is not a character to be trifled with at all, but she's also kind of unassuming when we first meet her in the series, so it makes sense that Gimple picked her, as well.

Ultimately, I'm pretty on board with this take. Obviously, I don't know Serratos, but she seems like she has what it takes to go out to Survivor and win, especially in the new era. She seems incredibly likable among her peers, which is super important. Athletically, it looks like she could win some challenges. Does she have the strategic acumen to win? We'll have to, again, trust Gimple's judgment here.

There are lots of similarities between The Walking Dead and the hit CBS reality series, Survivor. In one scenario, you're trying to fight to stay alive while the undead tries to feast on your flesh. And, depending on what season of Survivor you're watching, the players are up against something similar while competing for a $1 million prize.

I have a feeling that most stars of the hit series would hold their own on Survivor. Filming all the stunts, covered in fake blood, for days and days and days during the hot summer days is no joke. It's not quite as bad as the conditions the Survivor players face, but it could be close at times.

Unless Survivor does a celebrity season, we're probably not going to see any of the stars of The Walking Dead on the series unless they go the way of Mike White, the creator of The White Lotus, the writer and star of School of Rock, among many other shows and movies. I will say, it looks like The Traitors is expanding out of the reality TV star game. We could see more legit actors and actresses on that show soon. Maybe, Gimple is on to something, and we'll see Serratos in the mix!
