The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the sixth spinoff of The Walking Dead. AMC's most recent spinoff in TWDU was highly anticipated by viewers as it would see Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprise their roles and Rick and Michonne. The six-part limited series has now moved to a new streaming home.
The Ones Who Live, which was created by TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, Lincoln and Gurira, premiered on AMC in Feb. 2024. The limited series was announced as a continuation of the epic love story of Rick and Michonne.
Rick left the series in season 9 when it was thought that he had perished in a bridge explosion. Michonne would depart the series in season 10 when she discovered clues that Rick survived and left to search for him.
Fans missed both characters in the final seasons of The Walking Dead which concluded in Nov. 2022. They were treated to a brief appearance of both characters in the coda scene of the series finale. This would lead to The Ones Who Live spinoff, a powerful story of two people who would stop at nothing to be reunited.
On Jan. 13, 2025, in a partnership between AMC Networks and Netflix, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live began streaming on Netflix.
AMC's deal with Netflix already included great titles like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men. In Aug. 2024, the network announced 13 additional titles would be added to the streamer, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 1
and Fear the Walking Dead Seasons 1–8. Other non-Walking Dead titles included Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire Season 1, Dark Winds Season 1 and 2, Preacher Seasons 1-4, and more.
The Ones Who Live and Dead City were announced for a Jan. 2025 release, but for some reason, Dead City has now been omitted.

Lincoln and Gurira were joined by Pollyanna McIntosh, who reprised her role as Jadis, a character she previously played in the main series and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
