It's a great day for Walking Dead fans. A little over a year after Netflix and AMC Networks teamed up to bring a variety of AMC shows to the streaming platform like Interview with the Vampire and Dark Winds, the two companies are now taking their partnership to the next level by extending the deal. That means even more of your favorite AMC content is headed straight to Netflix!
Yes, you read that right. Your streaming queue is about to get a serious upgrade, but Walking Dead fans are the ones who will be really excited about this news. The original deal saw The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 1, Fear the Walking Dead seasons 1-8, The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live season 1 all added to Netflix.
Unfortunately, The Ones Who Live departed the streaming platform in August 2025, but the other spinoffs still remain streaming. Now, the streaming giant is set to receive new seasons of two of The Walking Dead's most popular spinoffs due to the extension of the deal. Those spinoffs are Daryl Dixon and Dead City. Fans have been patiently waiting for Daryl Dixon season 2 to land on Netflix since it finished airing on AMC back in November 2024. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second season will be released on Netflix sometime in October of this year.
Naturally, we're hoping for an early October 2025 release, but we'll just have to wait and see what release date Netflix decides to hand out. The streaming giant will likely announce the release date by the end of September since the second season is coming next month. There's no word on whether Daryl Dixon season 3 will be coming to Netflix in the future, but if it does, it'll probably arrive sometime next year. Dead City fans also have reason to celebrate, as Netflix will be adding the second season of the spinoff to its platform as well. Unfortunately, neither a release date nor a month has been revealed for Dead City season 2. It probably isn't coming to Netflix in October like Daryl Dixon season 2 because it would've likely been announced alongside Daryl’s release if that were the case. However, we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll get to see it on Netflix by the end of 2025. Of course, we'll return to share the official Netflix release date once it is announced.
If you're eager to watch Daryl Dixon season 2 and Dead City season 2 before they hit Netflix, you can currently stream both seasons on AMC+. However, you'll have to be subscribed to the streaming platform in order to gain access to the shows.
