The Walking Dead: Dead City's second season is quickly burning up the episodes with the fourth, of eight, premiering May 25 on AMC and AMC+. The episode is titled "Fiesty Friendly" and seems to describe the Dama (Lisa Emery) in the promo clip (below). This episode marks an important career moment for Lauren Cohan, who portrays Maggie Rhee, as this is her directorial debut for the story written by Keith Staskiewicz.

The second season of Dead City wasted no time getting down to the business of the battle for the methane production in Manhattan. The New Babylon Federation, led by Governor Byrd (Jasmin Walker), Colonel Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles), Major Lucia Narvaez (Dascha Polanco), and General Houseman (Anthony Molinari), gathered troops and made their way by boat to the island.

New Babylon was no match for Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the gangs of NYC, who were prepared with lots of destructive gadgets, created by the evil genius known as the Croat (Željko Ivanek). The Croat was notified of New Babylon's impending arrival by Hershel (Logan Kim), Maggie's son, who betrayed his mother and their group.

Negan, betrayed by Maggie in season 1, has reverted to his old ways, by way of blackmail by the Dama (Lisa Emery), a brutal and powerful woman in Manhattan. In the promo for the upcoming episode of the series, she, once again, threatens Negan by mentioning his family. Knowing Negan, he is planning her death each time he encounters her.

In the final season of The Walking Dead, Negan reappears with a new group, Riverside, and some important news: He is married to Annie (Medina Senghore), who is expecting his child. By the conclusion of that series, Negan, knowing he will always look over his shoulder, wondering if Maggie will kill him, takes his pregnant wife to live away from the communities.

His story picks up in Dead City, where he eventually confides in Maggie that since he is a wanted man in New Babylon, he sent his wife and son, Joshua, to live in Missouri. In season 2, the Dama informs Negan that, due to flooding of the Mississippi River, they were taken to Tennessee instead. She also updates him with the fact that she has sent people to bring his family to Manhattan. With his family's lives in danger and her previous threats regarding Hershel, Negan has no choice but to do her bidding.

This season has shown the brutal side of the Dama and her determination to bend Negan to her will. This was most evident when she found out Negan saved Hershel by halting the assault on New Babylon to save Hershel, and she murdered Victor ( Logan Schmucker), a man Negan befriended.

The Dama is a calculating and manipulative woman who appears to get what she wants. Right now she wants New Babylon destroyed and she wants control of Manhattan. She seems to be making nice with the other gangs in Manhattan led by Dre's (Karina Bonnefil), Bruegel (Kim Coates) and Christos (Jake Weary), but most likely she has plans to destroy them, which would ensure her reign and secure the methane production.

The midseason episode premieres of The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres on AMC and AMC+ on May 25. Don't miss it!
