The Walking Dead: Dead City's eight-part second season has already reached the midpoint, and while some questions have been answered, many more have come to light. One character has experienced significant trauma during her life, and season 1 exposed a shocking truth that has left her in a constant emotional state.

Ginny, portrayed by Mahina Napoleon, was introduced in season 1 of Dead City as an orphan who lost her father and was taken in by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). He appeared to be very interested in her well-being and would later give an explanation for this; he was the man who killed her father.

Negan was a wanted man by law enforcement of the New Babylon Federation for killing five men from the community who attacked his wife Annie (Medina Senghore). She went into New Babylon to do some trading, but when she didn't return in a reasonable amount of time, he knew something bad had happened. He told Maggie (Lauren Cohan), "she'd been robbed, and beaten and, uh... She begged me not to do something stupid, but hell, you know me." He hunted them down and killed them. Knowing he would be on the run from the law, he sent her and their son away.

In season 1, Ginny travels to Manhattan to warn Negan of Maggie's betrayal. In order to keep her safe and get her to leave the island, Negan reluctantly reveals the information about her father to Ginny. The young girl is devastated, and Negan is heartbroken to hurt the girl.

Upon leaving Manhattan, Ginny is taken to the Bricks, Maggie's new home. The girl has long been mute due to all the trauma she has experienced, but did utter a few words before the season 1 ending. In season 2, she is living at the Bricks, under Maggie's care, but the girl is carrying a heavy load of emotions that, at least on screen, have yet to be addressed.

She volunteers for the New Babylon army, who are heading to Manhattan and conceals a hand gun in her bag. Viewers know that she plans to kill Negan, but in order to get close to him she will have to go through the Burazi, the gang Negan has been blackmailed into joining.

In an interview with Bleeding Cool, Napoleon discussed Ginny's challenges this season. One thing Ginny struggles with is that with all of this trauma, she has no one. This pushes her to fend for herself and find her own strength.

It will be interesting to see where this season takes Ginny, as it could lead to someone's death, possibly her own.

Napoleon also shared that her fight scene in episode 201, "Power Equals Power," was one of favorites. She enjoyed working with Cohan and the stunt crew, and it was one of her first stunt scenes and she did it by herself.
