For fans of The Walking Dead, certain actors hold a special place in our hearts. After watching them bring their iconic characters to life over multiple seasons, it’s no surprise we hold them in high regard. But our admiration doesn’t end with the zombie series. Many of us continue to follow their careers, excited to see what new projects they take on next.

However, not every project they sign on to initially gets the attention it deserves. One such project is the survival thriller flick, Fall, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Widely considered one of the most underrated movies of 2022, Fall was just recently added to Netflix on Feb. 18. It hasn't been streaming on the platform for long, and it's already making a strong impression.

As of Feb. 23, Fall is currently sitting at the No. 2 spot on Netflix's top 10 movies list. That means tons of people are watching it. While it might not have been really popular when it first hit theaters back in 2022, the movie has found a whole new audience thanks to Netflix. Morgan doesn't have the biggest role in Fall, but it's still worth watching if you're a fan of his work or even if you’re just looking for a heart-pounding thriller. Now, let's get into what this movie is all about.

First, it was directed by Scott Mann from a script he co-wrote with Jonathan Frank. While the story is simple in setup, it's intense and wildly effective in execution. We follow two best friends, Becky and Hunter (Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner), whose thirst for adventure quickly spirals into a fight for survival unlike anything they’ve ever faced.

The film opens with Becky still reeling from a tragic accident that claimed the life of her husband, Dan (Mason Gooding), during a rock climbing trip. Distraught and grappling with grief, she’s withdrawn from the life she once loved. Her dad, James (played by Morgan), tries his best to help his daughter through her pain, but she remains distant.

That's when Hunter steps in, refusing to let her best friend stay trapped in her sorrow. She comes up with a daring plan to help Becky reclaim a sense of control over her life and move on. How? By convincing Becky to climb a 2,000-foot abandoned radio tower to scatter Dan’s ashes from the top.

But what starts as a symbolic act of closure and healing soon escalates into a life-or-death ordeal when the ladder bolts begin to give way as they're trying to make their way down the tower. Now, the two best friends are left stranded high above the ground with no easy way down.

When I watched Fall for the first time, I wasn't expecting much. As a Walking Dead fan, I just wanted to see Morgan in a new role. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how gripping the movie turned out to be. Not once did I feel like watching something else. I was completely invested throughout the entire 1 hour and 47 minutes, wondering if the close friends would survive the harrowing situation.

Without going deep into spoiler territory, I will tease that there's a really big twist towards the end of the movie that you won't see coming. That's it, that's all! You'll have to check out Fall on Netflix yourself if you're really curious!
