Actor Kyle Gallner may not be remembered for his smaller role in The Walking Dead, but since then he has made quite the name for himself. Most recently he can be seen in a reprisal of his role as Joel in the psychological horror, Smile 2.

Gallner starred in Parker Finn's feature directorial debut, Smile, released in 2022. Smile is based on Finn's short film, Laura Hasn't Slept, which premiered at SXSW and starred Walking Dead's Lew Temple. The first film starred Sosia Bacon as therapist Rose Cotter, who, after witnessing a patient's horrible suicide, begins to suffer disturbing events. The latest installment in the film series Smile 2 follows pop star Skye Riley's (Naomi Scott) return to the music world, where her dark past resurfaces as she is haunted by the supernatural.

Gallner's Joel is a survivor from the first film and Rosemarie DeWitt joines as Skye's mother and manager. Lukas Gage portrays Lewis, a drug dealer and Skye's acquaintance; Miles Gutierrez-Riley plays Joshua, Skye's assistant; and Raul Castillo plays head of a record company, Darius. Peter Jacobson, Ray Nicholson, and Dylan Gelula also star.

Smile 2 was released in theaters in Oct. 2024 and is now available for VOD via Prime Video.

Gallner has earned the Scream King title with his roles in The Haunting in Connecticut, Jennifer's Body, the 2010 remake A Nightmare on Elm Street, Red State, and Scream.
