Recently, Undead Walking featured an article about the actors who portrayed the prisoners featured in season 3 of The Walking Dead. (Read it here) While researching said article, we discovered that Lew Temple, who played Axel, has a new movie that was recently released.
Temple, who is well known for numerous roles in horror films, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006), Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007), and The Devil's Rejects (2005), now appears in a true crime movie, Ed Kemper. This movie chronicles the true and horrific murders that serial killer Ed Kemper committed during a year-long killing spree, for which he is currently serving eight concurrent life sentences in the California Medical Facility.
The movie is directed by Chad Ferrin (Pig Killer, H.P. Lovecraft’s The Old Ones), who co-wrote it with Stephen Johnson (Ted Bundy, The Hillside Strangler). It is released by Epic Pictures' specialty horror label, Dread. Ed Kemper is the first of three biographical true crime stories from Dread, which will be followed by Dorothea, also directed by Ferrin and Richard Ramirez, with more coming in the future.
In addition to Temple, the cast also includes Cassandra Gava (Conan the Barbarian), Robert Miano (Fast & Furious), Brinke Stevens (House on Haunted Hill), Susan Priver (Night Caller), and Brandon Kirk (Scalper).
Ed Kemper is currently available on VOD. Watch it here on Prime Video and here, on AppleTV+.
The movie's official description reads: The horrifying true story of Ed Kemper, a cunning and sadistic serial killer shaped by childhood abuse, whose charming facade masked his grotesque obsession with murder, mutilation, and the ultimate act of revenge against the woman who scarred him most—his mother.
Ed Kemper is one of three movies that will be released in 2025, of which Chad Ferrin directs. Next will be Dorthea, another film from Dread in which Temple also appears.
