Watching any spin-off series from The Walking Dead universe always gives fans a closer and more in-depth look at the characters we have grown to know over the years. And this was no exception when, last year, we caught up on the stories between Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) during the first season of their spin-off Dead City. These six episodes showed fans a complex story involving reunions, heartbreak, and betrayal.

The first season saw a several year time jump from when the flagship show concluded. The relationship between Maggie and Negan was still on the rocks, but after her son Hershel (Logan Kim) was kidnapped by what we now know was an ex-savior, Maggie enlisted Negan to help her find him and bring him home. However, as the last episode detailed, Maggie was not to have been trusted by Negan as he was being used as bait to win her son back by the Croat. And this week came an announcement that fans were eager to hear regarding the continuation of this story.

The Walking Dead spin-off series Dead City will return for a highly anticipated second series. But where can fans in the UK catch up on all of the Maggie and Negan drama? Here is all you need to know.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 UK Premiere Details

It can be hard to keep up with where a TWDU spin-off is available. That was at least until Sky bought the rights to the franchise in the UK with an exclusive deal with AMC last year. Meaning it's easier to access many episodes in one place, including any new episodes.

The deal began with showing all eleven seasons of the flagship show The Walking Dead, followed closely by The Ones Who Live, Dead City Season One, and then both seasons of Daryl Dixon. Fans wanting to watch World Beyond and Fear The Walking Dead will still have to head over to Amazon Prime as it's not set in stone if these will also be moving over to Sky and NOW TV. But a recent Sky press announcement confirms that Dead City Season 2 will be on the way soon.

In a recent press release, Sky announced that TWD: Dead City Season 2 will air in the UK in June. An exact air date is still to be confirmed. But fans were treated to a video showing us the opening moments of the first episode, which looks as action-packed as ever!

The second series is hitting screens in the US slightly earlier on May 4 on platforms AMC and AMC Plus. It may seem like a long time before UK fans can stream the new episodes, but it is a much shorter wait than in previous years. It is also still to be confirmed if the episodes will drop weekly or all together on Sky and NOW TV. However, if it follows suit of the other spin-offs, they will drop altogether.

From the details announced in the press release, we know that Maggie and Negan will once again be on opposing sides as they both try to find a way out of the messy situation they both found themselves in during the first season. This season will also once again take place in Manhattan. Fans can also expect to see some new cast members joining, such as Kim Coates, Keir Gilchrist, Dascha Polanco, Pooya Mohseni and Jake Weary.

It is an exciting time for TWDU fans as we find ourselves waiting in anticipation for another instalment in this ever-growing story. And I cannot wait to see where their journey takes us! But which side are you, Maggie or Negan?

Whilst we wait in anticipation for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 this June, fans in the UK can catch up on Season 1 on Sky and NOW TV now. Fans in the US can catch the series on May 4 on AMC and AMC Plus and watch season 1 on Netflix.
