A new horror thriller is quietly building momentum in Hollywood, and its cast is already catching attention! Two talented actors with ties to The Walking Dead universe have officially joined the upcoming film, which already has Alexandra Daddario (Mayfair Witches) attached.
The project, titled Inground, is now in production and filming in Atlanta. Aaron Katz directs with Dan Dworkin penning the script. On the production side, the film is backed by major industry names, including Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Sam Roston for Scott Free Productions. Additional producing credits come from Nathan Klingher, Joshua Harris, and Ford Corbett for Gramercy Park. In addition, Peachtree Media Partners is handling financing for the project.
Inground's plot centers on a backyard project that goes wrong. It follows a recently divorced father who attempts to rebuild his relationship with his son by building a swimming pool in their backyard. But what begins as a fun project during a long summer turns into something incredibly frightening.
Kyle Gallner and Raúl Castillo are set to star in Inground

It's really true! Kyle Gallner is officially on board to star in Inground, adding another notable horror project to his already extensive resume. Known for his consistent work in unsettling, psychological roles, Gallner continues to build a reputation as one of modern horror’s most recognizable faces.
Most audiences know him far more for his film work in titles like Smile, Scream (2022), Smile 2, and Jennifer’s Body, but Walking Dead fans may remember his brief appearance in the long-running zombie series. He played the role of Zach in the first episode of the fourth season.
Zach was a young survivor living at the prison community alongside Rick’s group. In the episode, Zach is in a relationship with Beth Greene and is shown as part of the group’s supply-run team. However, Gallner's time on the show is extremely short-lived. During a supply run, Zach is bitten by a walker, and shortly after, he dies in a sudden and shocking moment when a helicopter crashes into a store roof and crushes him.

Also joining the Inground cast is Raúl Castillo. Unlike Gallner, Castillo does not have a direct acting credit in The Walking Dead main series. However, he is confirmed to star in the upcoming third season of Dead City. He is set to play Luis in the zombie spinoff show, though character details are currently being kept under wraps.
Most people will recognize Castillo for his strong work outside of the zombie franchise. He first gained major attention with the HBO series Looking. He later expanded into film with roles in movies such as We the Animals, Army of the Dead, Night Teeth, Mother/Android, Smile 2, etc.
With him, Gallner, and Daddario leading the Inground cast, it’ll be interesting to see how their different strengths come together in what is already shaping up to be one of the more intriguing genre titles currently in the works!
