The Walking Dead season 6: Carl finally getting noticed

Fans of The Walking Dead seem to really dislike Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead. This is not the fault of the Chandler Riggs, the actor who plays Carl, but instead I feel it has to do with how the character has been sheltered and held out of action.

He’s been viewed as a weak link in the group. Whether he was told to stay in the house, babysit Judith, or left out of important missions, Carl Grimes has been long ignored on the show. However, from the sound of things, season 6 might just be the start of a new Carl Grimes.

The recent Shadows promo for The Walking Dead is showing us a much more grown up version of young Mr. Grimes. Along with that image of him, should come a more adult version of the boy that everyone coddled to this point.

Fans that are hoping Carl will be have a bigger presence got some reassurance at the recent Fan Expo Canada, where Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, and Lennie James talked about the upcoming sixth season of The Walking Dead, including a line that Chander will deliver that sounds like a favorite of the cast and crew.

The question is this: What is the amazing line that Carl is going to say? Many fans are speculating that is one of his most popular lines from the comics, where he exclaims “You f—ing f—wads can go f— yourselves.” However, I doubt that will make it into the final product on AMC.

Remember the end of season 4 of The Walking Dead when Rick Grimes said “They’re screwing with the wrong people”? Well, that wasn’t always the phrase. The version in the comics contained the ‘f word’ instead of ‘screwing’ and some felt that lost the impact of the scene.

It will be interesting to see what this quote is, how censored it will be for television, and whether or not it will have the impact that his line from the comics had. We’ll find out when The Walking Dead returns for season 6 to AMC on October 11, 2015.
