The cover of the July 2017 issue of The Walking Dead titled ‘Lines We Cross’ has Rick Grimes in a bad spot. Check out the artwork for issue 169 right here!
The Walking Dead comic book series has many characters in really bad spots at the moment. Following the April 2017 issue, Rick Grimes has accidentally killed someone in a major position of power and learned that someone he loves is on the brink of death.
Looking ahead to July’s installment of the series, some of these issues Rick is having could be resolved by then. However, judging by the artwork that will grace the cover, the problems might be bigger than fans think.
Check out the artwork for issue 169 of The Walking Dead comic book series titled ‘Lines We Cross’ as shown on the Image Comics website:
One of the biggest wild cards going forward is Dwight. After the accidental death of Sherry at the hands of Rick Grimes, it is difficult to know how he will react to learning about her fate since he still has some feelings for her.
The covers of the issues don’t always correspond to the action within the issue. This artwork could be intentionally misleading, especially since Image Comics and Skybound likely wouldn’t give away a major twist on the cover of issue 169.
A synopsis for the issue is even more vague:“It is time for Dwight to step up.”
What is Dwight stepping up because of? Who is he stepping up for? And even though he’s been loyal to Alexandria, would he really switch sides and join back up with The Saviors?

With everything else going on in the comic book world of The Walking Dead, issue 169 could be another game-changing installment in the series. Don’t miss ‘Lines We Cross’ when it is released on July 5, 2017 by Image Comics and Skybound.
