The Walking Dead 171 variant comic book cover by De Felici announced

A variant cover for The Walking Dead issue 171 titled ‘Fear The Princess’ featuring artwork from Italian comic artist Lorenzo De Felici has been announced.

The comic book world of The Walking Dead is a complicated one. With the survivors still recovering from the attack by the Whisperers, turmoil from within the groups, and a small expedition headed to Ohio, there is a lot going on.

Those storylines will be explored in issue 171 of The Walking Dead comics, but there will be another great reason for fans of the series to want to pick up multiple copies of the September issue.

According to the official website of The Walking Dead, a special variant cover for each of Skybound’s properties will be released showing artwork from Italian comic artist Lorenzo De Felici.

Of course, this is an odd month to feature a variant cover. The original artwork feature an image of a strange woman who many assume to be ‘The Princess’ of which the comic is named after.

Instead, the De Felici cover art features Rick Grimes seemingly walking down a road where there is a large horde of walkers on both sides of him as he clears a path by shouldering walkers out of the way.
